Are you smart and like to build? Smartbuilder is the place for you.

Wazzappppppppp ! Let's cut the chase and get straight to the point. This entry will have no puns or jokes. Smartbuilder is a tool that helps you to create your own "software" in a much easier way. You don't have to use the "c++" code to get started with Smartbuilder. This app uses a term "hyperlink", basically where everything gets started. Then, it uses "trigger" and "action" button to make everything works. Long story short, Smartbuilder is more or less like a lego. All you got to do is attach everything to its right place and it will work smoothly.

This entry will be the last entry from me. Thank you for reading my entries (sorry for the bad jokes) and I hope it can help you in the future. That is all . Chiao !

POWTOON

Wazzappppppppppppppppppp ! Ka-Poww ! Nope. Wrong entry. This entry will talk about Powtoon. Basically Powtoon is a web-based animation that allows us to create animated presentations (if you are the serious type, I highly suggest you to stop reading this entry). You can create the videos by using pre-creted objects, import your own images, include musics or your own voice cover (if you have great voice like mine).  As usual, you have to sign up, choose the category that you like and then let you creativity do the work.  So that is all for now. Go and explore. Chiaooooo !

CANVA

Wazzappppppppppppppppppppppp ! Hello readers. This entry will talk about Canva. This may be your first time listen to Canva so please read carefully. Canva is a free graphic-design tool and is easy to be used. It has millions ready-made pictures, graphics and fonts. It mostly used by non-designers (like you and I). First step in using Canva is you have to register. Do not worry. It's free. Trust me. Second step is, use your creativity and create any design, fonts and pictures that you want. So that is all. Chiaoooooooo !

PODCAST

Wazzaapppppppppppppppppp. This entry will talk about podcast. You may have heard about it but I don't care. I'm going to explain it anyway. Basically, podcast is a video or an audio file that can be broadcast through the internet. Funny info, the term podcast comes from iPod (we owe you Steve Jobs) and broadcast. Two main usage of podcast in teaching is to make students listen to existing podcasts and create their own podcasts. Existing podcast can be used for self study, listening in class and many more. If you want to make a podcast, all you need is an audio or online voice recorder or your smartphone (no excuse now huh). Other than that, you also need an audio editing tool (Google the tools please). Then all you got to do is upload it on YouTube, iTunes, Sound Cloud or Blog.

So below is my podcast. It is about greek gods (wait for the thunder, get it? Zeus, get it?). No worries now, I am still a Muslim. So that is all. Chiao !

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

Wazzapppppppppppppppppppppppp. So for this entry, I will talk about instructional design. So,what is instructional design? It is when you create instructional experiences which make the acquisition of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective and appealing. Sounds great? Wait until you finish reading. It is also a mix between Behaviorist and Constructivist learning theory (note : read previous entry please). Instructional design also focusing on the learners' need. In needs to analyse the syllabus, survey,  free writing and public records. Besides that, it should have the outcome for example, what should the learners achieve by the end of the learning experience? Instruction design in CALL involves creating computer software for learning. PLATO (Programmed Logic for Automated Teaching Operations) is the first computer assisted instruction system but it is an expensive system. The most important thing is the ADDIE model. Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. So that is all for this entry. Chiaoooooooo

CMC

Wazzapppppppppp readers ! We have covered on CALL and Search Engines. Today's post will talk about CMC. What is CMC? CMC stands for Computer Mediated Communication. It is a form of communication or interaction between people through Internet.

CMC used in the education started way back in the 1980s and 1990s with the introduction of CALL. It was spread with the spreading of Email and Forums (Google "what is Forums"). There are 2 types of CMC which are Asynchronous CMC and Synchronous CMC. First, let's talk about Asynchronous CMC. Asynchronous CMC is a type of CMC where the communication is not synchronized. The messages are not replied immediately. Emails, social media (from stone aged era, I don't know, I'm from Facebook-Twitter generation), internet forums and messages board (again, please google "What is messages board?") and blogs.

Next is Synchronous CMC. It is a type of CMC that synchronised the communication between participants. The messages are often can be exchanged and replied immediately (though you always got blueticked by your crush). It also allows direct communication that is used through Intenet chat rooms, messenger or video/audio conference.

Through CMC, long distance learning becomes easier. Video conferencing and E-tutoring are used widely. With these, E-lectures also become popular. Collaborative learning has also become a part of CMC. Google Doc, Google Drive, etc. ,has become the place to do this learning.

CMC has many advantages such as there are no such thing as distance barrier and makes the collaboration becomes easier. However, its disadvantages are the problems with accessing the technology and also lacking of real human contact.

So this is all. Ciaooooo !

Search engines & Database

Wazzaapppppppp readers. Previous posts talk about CALL. So now enough with CALL, let's move on to another topic which is search engines. As some of you may know, there are hundreds of search engines and the most popular is Google (obviously, you don't say "let's Yahoo it", you'd say "Let's Google it"). There are 4 parts of search engines which are Database, Web Crawlers, User interface and Information Retrieval System. Database is where all the indexed webpages are stored. Web Crawlers is the one that "crawls" for keywords. User Interface is the app or page or the site itself. Basically it is the homepage of a search engine. Lastly is the Information Retrieval System, which is the system that is used to find the user's query to indexed webpages.

There are specialized search engines which are Google Scholar, Education World, etc. One of the things that really had my attention was the "Dark Web". I have seen a movie regarding the dark web and personally, dark web is really interesting and intriguing website (for me, I might be a psycho, don't ask) because it is so secretive like only few people from thousands of internet user have access to it. I hope that one day I will have the experience of going into the website.

So that's all for this post. Ciaoooo !
